About the role

Sea Harvest Fishing is looking for an experienced and suitably qualified Skipper to take command of a 19-metre Spanish Mackerel vessel, Sturmvogel. The vessel is currently in Exmouth and will be soon ready to fish. Operating primarily across the Pilbara and Kimberley, Sturmvogel fishes the WA Spanish Mackerel fishery, with focus in the Pilbara for the remainder of the 2026 season.

Key responsibilities

- Take command of the 19-metre Spanish Mackerel vessel

- Safely manage the vessel and crew

- Operate across the Pilbara and Kimberley regions

- Fish the WA Spanish Mackerel fishery

About you

- Master <24m Near Coastal (Master Class V or equivalent)

- MED II

- Radio Operator's Licence

- Current First Aid Certificate

- Minimum 2–3 years' commercial fishing experience

- Proven ability to safely manage a vessel and crew

- Solid work ethic and practical mechanical ability

- Based in Western Australia with knowledge of WA waters and ability to mobilise to Exmouth

- Ability to bring an experienced or preferred crew highly regarded
