About the role
We are seeking an experienced Mining Production Trainer to join Training U Pty Ltd in Leonora, WA. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in developing and delivering high-quality training programmes to our Tier 1 clients mining operations workforce. As a Mining Production Trainer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our teams have the knowledge, skills and competencies required to operate safely, efficiently and effectively within our mining operations. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining operational excellence, regulatory compliance and a strong safety culture across our production environment.
Available rosters:
- 7 days on / 7 days off
- 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Key responsibilities
- Delivering site-based training and competency assessments for current operators and current operators that are needing to be upskilled on Haul Trucks (Diesel and Electric), Dozers, Graders, Excavators, Loaders and Water Carts
- Assess trainee competency and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement and skill development
- Maintain detailed training records and documentation to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards
- Collaborate with operations management to identify training needs and gaps within the workforce
- Support the implementation of safety protocols and procedures through targeted training initiatives
- Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements to enhance learning outcomes
- Mentor and coach employees to foster professional development and career progression within the organisation
What we're looking for
- Substantial experience working in mining operations, with a demonstrated understanding of production processes, equipment and safety requirements
- Experience with Caterpillar and Komatsu Dump Trucks, Caterpillar Dozers, Caterpillar and Komatsu Loaders, Caterpillar and Komatsu Water Carts, Caterpillar 16M Grader.
- Proven experience in delivering training programmes within a mining or similar industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of mining safety standards, regulations and industry best practices
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent, and relevant RII units of competency
- Demonstrated ability to assess competency effectively and provide constructive feedback
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple training delivery schedules and administrative tasks
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different shifts and operational areas as required
