Our client is seeking a Service & Minor Works Estimator to join their team!

Based in Perth, you will work alongside experienced technicians, service managers, and clients to deliver accurate, competitive pricing that supports the successful delivery of service and minor works projects.

What you'll be doing?

- Preparing estimates and quotations — Develop accurate and competitive estimates for HVAC&R; service, maintenance, repairs, and small projects that reflect true costs and support business profitability.
- Reviewing technical documentation — Assess customer requests, site reports, specifications, and technical drawings to fully understand project scope and requirements.
- Conducting site visits — Travel to client sites when required to evaluate project conditions and gather the information needed to produce well-informed proposals.
- Sourcing supplier and subcontractor pricing — Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing that contributes to strong and accurate cost estimates.
- Analysing project costs — Break down labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs to ensure every quotation is thorough, realistic, and commercially sound.
- Preparing proposals and tender submissions — Put together clear, professional scopes of work, proposals, and tender documents that represent the business effectively to clients.
- Liaising with clients — Communicate directly with clients to clarify requirements, provide technical advice, and build positive working relationships.




- Collaborating with internal teams — Work closely with Service Managers and Technicians to ensure pricing accuracy and a smooth handover from estimation to project delivery.
- Maintaining estimating records — Keep well-organised records of estimating data and job costing information to support continuous improvement and business reporting.
- Identifying growth opportunities — Proactively recognise opportunities for additional services and contribute to the ongoing growth of the business.

Who are they looking for?

- HVAC&R; estimating experience — A background in estimating within the HVAC&R; industry, with a solid track record of preparing accurate and competitive quotations.
- Technical knowledge of HVAC&R; systems — A strong understanding of commercial and industrial HVAC&R; systems is essential to assess project scope and provide sound technical input.
- Ability to interpret technical documents — Comfort with reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and technical drawings is key to succeeding in this role.
- Solid numerical and analytical skills — An aptitude for numbers, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to problem-solving will set a strong candidate apart.
- Proficiency in relevant software — Familiarity with Microsoft Office and estimating software will support day-to-day efficiency and accuracy.
- Communication and client service skills — The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal teams is highly valued in this role.




- Ability to manage priorities — Comfort working across multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, maintaining quality and accuracy throughout.
- Trade qualification (preferred) — A trade qualification in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Mechanical Services, or a related field is preferred, though relevant estimating, engineering, or project management experience will also be considered.
- Current driver's licence — A valid driver's licence is required to support site visits and client engagements as needed.
