Position Details
Role Title: EAP Counsellor (Psychologist/Social Worker/Rehabilitation Counsellor)
Location: Devonport, TAS
Role Type: Contractor (2 days a week available)
About You
- Tertiary Qualification in Rehabilitation Counselling, Social Work or Masters in Psychology
- Registered with ASORC, AASW or AHPRA
- Experience providing counselling, EAP, workplace wellbeing, or mental health services
- Professional indemnity insurance
- ABN and ability to work as an independent contractor
The Role
- Provide confidential, short-term counselling to EAP customers (workers or their immediate family) experiencing personal, psychological, or work-related concerns
- Assess client needs, identify key issues, and deliver evidence-based therapeutic strategies, psychoeducation, and practical coping techniques
- Support customers to improve wellbeing, resilience, and functioning through solution-focused and recovery-oriented interventions
- Maintain professional, ethical, and privacy standards, ensuring counselling information remains confidential except where required by law or safety obligations
- Document any customer liaison, sessions, interactions in a skilled, appropriate, and timely manner within the client management system (VINCI)
- Maintain accurate billing and invoicing records and provide RM with itemised invoices that accurately reflect work undertaken
