War Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a 3rd Schedule Aged Rehabilitation hospital, situated in Waverley, owned and operated by Uniting and part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Services are comprised of 24-hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, iREAP Day Rehabilitation program, several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, and day centre program, 24-hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services. It is set within beautiful tranquil grounds and is a well-supported team environment.

Hospital and Security Assistant (HASA)

- Initially offered as a casual position, with the opportunity to become part of the hospital services team.
- Work in the beautiful grounds and heritage buildings of War Memorial Hospital, assisting patients, visitors and staff with their day-to-day needs.
- A wide-ranging and active hospital support role, ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and having a different day-to-day experience.
- Duties include:
- Providing a professional security presence and assisting with security requirements.
- Cleaning and maintaining hospital areas to a high standard.
- Undertaking deliveries and collection of supplies, equipment and other items throughout the hospital.
- Moving equipment and assisting hospital departments with general support requirements.
- Providing assistance to patients, visitors and staff when required.
- Responding to the changing day-to-day needs of the hospital.

Essential Requirement

- Applicants must hold a current Security Licence.
- Previous experience in security, cleaning, hospital services, deliveries or a similar customer-focused environment will be highly regarded.

Selection Criteria

1. Health and Security Assistant or Security Officer with cleaning experience

2. Possession of a current New South Wales Class 1A Security Licence and First Aid Certificate in accordance with the Security Industry Act

3. Knowledge and experience in general security and risk management awareness

4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of hospital cleaning standards and processes

5. Proven interpersonal, written,



electronic and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with patients, visitors and other staff across all levels in the Hospital and computer skills relevant to the role and mandatory training requirements

6. Demonstrated ability to work well supervised, within a team and also independently following schedules and instructions

7. Ability and availability to work across a 7 day rotating roster

8. Awareness of Work Health Safety and Infection Control principles

Qualifications:

- NSW Class 1A Security Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate

All Category A NSW Health workers are required to have received an annual seasonal Influenza vaccination or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. COVID-19 vaccinations are strongly recommended for all NSW Health workers.
