About this role
As a Registered Nurse - Surgical Ward, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive and individualised nursing care to patients in Colorectal & Urology department. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating patient care while adhering to best practice standards and professional ethics.
Hours
- Permanent Part time
- 0.8 FTE = 60 hrs per fortnight
Key Responsibilities
- Utilise the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
- Foster communication that promotes teamwork, interdisciplinary collaboration and effective care condition
- Administer medications and treatments according to prescribed standards, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations, ensuring patient safety and quality of care at all times
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies, procedures and infection control standards
- Contribute to the education of patients and families regarding their care and discharge planning
About You
- Minimum 2 years' clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare is preferred
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Comprehensive knowledge of the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice, Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics
- Holding current CPR, Manual Handling and other relevant certifications
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work as part of a team while managing individual tasks and responsibilities
