City of Mount Gambier has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven individual to join the Finance team.

The Finance Officer is responsible for the accurate, timely and efficient administration of Council’s procure-to-pay (creditors), procurement, contract management and revenue functions, including the maintenance of financial records, systems support, transaction processing, reporting, reconciliations and compliance activities. The position supports the effective delivery of Council’s financial operations through the administration of creditor and revenue transactions, rates-related processes, and associated month-end activities, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, Council policies and established procedures.
The role provides a high level of customer service and support to internal and external stakeholders, including responding to enquiries, providing system training and guidance, and promoting compliance with relevant financial and procurement frameworks.
This position is classified at Level 3 Year 1 – Level 3 Year 4 (currently $87,123.72 - $93,815.76 per annum) of the City of Mount Gambier Administration Staff Agreement No.13 •025.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience in administrative and financial operations including creditors and debtors gained from working within a complex finance environment
- Demonstrated skills,
knowledge and experience relating to financial management and accounting including financial system, process analysis and project management
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills to meet essential deadlines, including prioritising in a high-pressure working environment with multiple competing commitments
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level customer service with excellent written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation
- Ability to work autonomously within minimum direction and effectively as part of a team
- Sound and effective knowledge of systems, databases and Microsoft suite of products
