About Now Buildings
Now Buildings is Australia's leading supplier of large farm and industrial buildings. We've built our reputation by doing things differently and by backing hardworking, down-to-earth people who genuinely care about what they do.
Based in Collingwood, our dog-friendly office is home to a close-knit team who excel in their field, enjoy a laugh, and support each other to do great work.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Quality Assurance Tester to work closely with our Sales, Design & Engineering, Product, and Dev teams, ensuring the quality and accuracy of our core software platform. You'll become a subject-matter expert (SME) on the platform's design and outputs, helping validate that what the software produces is correct.
With plenty to learn across the business, the role will initially be primarily office-based while you get up to speed. Once you're established (around 2 to 3 months in), we offer a flexible hybrid arrangement with the option to work from home 1–2 days per week.
The role commences as a 12-month contract, with potential to become permanent at the end of the term.
This position is also a vital link between our VIC and QLD teams, so travel to our QLD office (Gold Coast) will be required 1 to 2 times a year.
What You'll Be Doing
- Define, execute, and refine test strategies alongside Design & Engineering, Product, and Dev
- Validate generated plans, specifications, and calculations for technical accuracy
- Cross-check software outputs against CAD/AutoCAD drawings and engineering plans
- Write and execute manual test cases across front-end and back-end
- Write automated tests, or build that capability quickly on the job
- Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) hands-on to speed up both testing and development
- Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution
- Run release testing cycles end-to-end with minimal guidance
- Bring a quality-first voice to sprint planning, stand-ups, and releases
Bonus Points For
- Experience testing React-based or 3D/rendering applications
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM-integrated platforms
- CAD knowledge and confidence in reading plans or building drawings
- Some full-stack development experience or someone who has dabbled in code and is keen to learn more.
Our Technology Stack
- Front-end: React, Babylon.js
- Back-end: ASP.NET Core, Autodesk Platform Services
- Data: Azure SQL Server, Salesforce
- CI/CD: Azure, Bitbucket
About You
This role will suit someone who is highly organised, proactive, and adaptable, with great attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude.
To be successful, you'll bring:
- 3+ years in software QA, with exposure to automation and/or AI-assisted testing
- Robust attention to detail validating complex, engineering-driven outputs
- Confidence working directly with sales, design, engineering, product, and dev stakeholders
- Clear communication able to explain defects and risks to technical and non-technical audiences
Why Us
We work hard, but we keep things pretty relaxed. There’s no corporate dress code, very little hierarchy, and you’ll work alongside everyone from junior team members through to the owners of the business. You will also have real ownership over quality outcomes and a direct hand in shaping our product roadmap. On top of this we offer:
- A laid-back, friendly office in Collingwood, just off Smith Street
- Casual dress every day
- Coffee runs and plenty of great snacks while you're in the office
- Team lunch every Friday
- Monthly happy hour and regular social events
- Parental leave benefits
- Paid study leave and support for further professional development.
