Role:

Are you an experienced Heavy Vehicle (HV) Fitter looking for a new challenge? Join our Mobile Plant team in Ballarat and take advantage of a fantastic prospect to establish a career in mining maintenance, without the need for FIFO rosters and extended time away from home.

The position reports to Mobile Plant Leading Hands.

The key responsibilities in this role will be the safe and effective completion of a variety of duties including:

- Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on a diverse fleet of underground mining equipment, including Sandvik, Cat, Normet, and Volvo vehicles, in accordance with manufacturer and company standards.

- Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner and carry out quality repairs to minimise downtime and support operational requirements.

- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on jumbos, loaders, and trucks to ensure optimal equipment performance, reliability, and availability.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults, recommending and undertaking maintenance interventions that enhance the operational reliability and efficiency of the company's heavy vehicle fleet.





- Diagnose and rectify machinery breakdowns in an underground mining environment, ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all shift documentation, including service sheets, work orders, and daily shift reports.

- Complete all required JSAs, risk assessments, and associated documentation to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with scheduled requirements.

To be successful in this role:

- Relevant Mechanical Trade certificates.

- Experience working with mining and heavy earthmoving machinery, particularly equipment powered by Volvo and Detroit engines, will be highly regarded.

- Demonstrated ability to commit to a continuous 7/7 roster, working both day and night shifts as required.

- Ability to work underground and perform duties safely and effectively on a 12-hour shift roster.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and collaborate within a team environment.

- Commitment to maintaining a respectful and cooperative work environment, consistently demonstrating behaviours aligned with company values, policies, and expectations.

Preferred:

- Previous experience within the mining industry is highly desirable; however, it is not essential for the right candidate.

- Relevant industry experience may include heavy earthmoving machinery, agriculture, or similar equipment-focused environments.

- Previous experience with parts procurement and inventory ordering through an ERP system (such as Pronto) is highly desirable.

7/7 Roster, rotating days & nights, 12-hour shifts
