Whelan Lawyers is seeking a Commercial Lawyer with 4–5 years’ post admission experience to join our growing Melbourne based team.

This is a primarily remote role offering genuine flexibility, autonomy and direct client relationships, without the traditional office environment or six minute time recording.

The role

You’ll manage a varied commercial practice, working directly with clients across:

• Commercial contracts and agreements
• Business sales and acquisitions
• Corporate advisory
• Employment matters
• Commercial and retail leasing
• Franchising
• Disputes and litigation

You’ll have the prospect to run your own matters, advise clients directly and take ownership of your work.

About you

You’re a commercially minded lawyer who:

• Has 4–5 years PAE
• Has strong commercial law experience
• Is confident working autonomously
• Has excellent drafting and negotiation skills
• Provides practical, commercially focused advice
• Communicates confidently with clients
• Is organised, proactive and detail oriented
• Enjoys using technology to work smarter
