We’re a competitive swimming club with a 40-year history of helping swimmers develop from their early swimming years through to national-level racing.
With Yarra Swim School and our club squads operating together, our coaches are part of a genuine long-term pathway for swimmers.
Our coaching philosophy is simple:
Develop the person. Develop the athlete. Performance will follow.
The role
Working with our Head Coach and Lead Development Coach, you’ll help deliver squad sessions and support swimmers to develop their technique, fitness, confidence and race skills.
You’ll have the prospect to:
deliver training sessions
provide clear and useful feedback
support swimmers at selected swim meets
work with swimmers across different ages and abilities
work across our squad pathway
work alongside our coaching and Swim School teams
contribute to the long-term development of our swimmers and program
develop your coaching skills and take on greater responsibility over time
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, positive, supportive and willing to learn. Coaching experience and qualifications are important, but so are attitude, communication and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Morning sessions: Monday to Saturday, from approximately 5:45am, later start Sunday
Afternoon and evening sessions: Monday to Friday, between 4:00pm and 8:30pm depending on the program
Weekend sessions: selected Saturday and Sunday sessions and swim meets
Days and shifts: flexible based on your availability and program needs
