About the Role

OurAlcohol and Other DrugSpecialists support prisoners to access prison-based drug and alcohol programs and services to support their recovery.The role has a particular focus on harm minimisation and facilitating programs and services that support increased awareness of harm reduction strategies both in custody and post-release.This role will see you also facilitating group-based programs that increase self-efficacy through the development of effective coping strategies and relapse prevention planning.

About Your Skills and Experience

To be successful inthis role you will have:
A health, social or behavioral science undergraduate degree, a Certificate IV in AOD,



Diploma in AOD, or extensive AOD experience
Experience working in the AOD sector in either screening and assessment, case work, or program delivery
A desire to make a difference to the lives of people who may experience disadvantage, have challenging behaviours and complex needs
Experience working collaboratively with others in a complex environment
Ability to embrace change and continuous improvement
Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills
Empathy and cultural awareness
Resilience
