Seniors Rights Victoria (SRV) | Part time 0.6 FTE
Are you an experienced lawyer looking for meaningful work that creates real impact?
Seniors Rights Victoria, a specialist community legal service within COTA Victoria, is seeking a Senior Community Lawyer to help protect and advance the rights of older Victorians experiencing elder abuse. This role combines client advocacy, legal representation, mentoring, community education and systemic advocacy.
About the Role
You'll provide high-quality legal advice, casework and representation to older people experiencing elder abuse, working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. You'll also contribute to law reform, community education and mentoring junior lawyers.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
A current practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one in Victoria)
At least 4 years' post-admission experience
Experience in elder law, family violence, guardianship, powers of attorney, property law or related areas
Robust advocacy and communication skills
A commitment to social justice and the rights of older people
Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff is highly regarded
