Role Description The Plant Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Adelaide, SA, responsible for safe and efficient operation of earthmoving and construction machinery. Day-to-day duties include operating excavators, skid steers, graders, loaders, and other plant equipment for bulk excavation, base preparation, stormwater installation, and detailed footing works. The role involves conducting pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting to keep machinery in optimal working condition.



The Plant Operator will follow project plans, GPS guidance, and supervisor instructions to achieve accurate site levels and meet quality standards. Additional responsibilities include adhering to safety procedures, supporting team members on site, and completing relevant documentation such as logs and inspection reports.

Qualifications
Solid skills in plant operations and machine operation for civil earthworks projects.
Experience with quality control processes to ensure work meets project specifications and safety standards.
Ability to perform routine maintenance and basic fault finding on plant and equipment.
Competent forklift operation and relevant high-risk work license (or willingness to obtain).
Previous experience in civil construction or earthmoving settings.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transport to Adelaide, SA worksites.
Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
Ability to read site plans, use GPS/UTS guidance systems, and follow instructions from supervisors.
Valuable communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
