The opportunity
82 Degrees North is seeking a Cloud Support Officer to join a Commonwealth Government agency working within a modern cloud and data environment.
You'll join a multidisciplinary Product Operations Team, supporting the day-to-day operation of cloud-based data products and services used across the agency.
This is a hands‐on support role suited to someone with experience across AWS, cloud applications, incident management and user support who wants to continue developing their technical capability in a highly interesting government environment.
You'll work alongside product managers, engineers, architects and other technical specialists to help keep cloud data products secure,



reliable and available to users.
What you will be doing
Provide first-level support for cloud-based data products and services
Receive, analyse, triage and resolve user support requests
Monitor cloud services and investigate operational issues and incidents
Troubleshoot cloud applications and elevate complex technical issues where required
Support the implementation and maintenance of cloud security controls and governance requirements
Develop and maintain SOPs, operational documentation and knowledge articles
Work with engineers, product managers and technical specialists to resolve issues and improve services
Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud products, operational processes and user experience
Participate in an agile, multidisciplinary product environment
What we are looking for
3+ years' experience supporting cloud-based applications, data products or services in a complex enterprise environment
Practical experience with AWS environments and services
Experience with incident management, troubleshooting and technical user support
AWS Cloud Practitionertraining/certificationor another relevant foundational AWS qualification




Robust written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving operational environment
Experience working within agile or multidisciplinary technology teams
Experience within Australian Government, Defence, National Security or other security-conscious enterprise environments would be highly regarded.
Security Clearance
An active AGSVA Security Clearance will be required for this role.
Candidates without an active clearance will not be considered for this role.

Contract Details
Location: Barton, Canberra ACT
Working arrangement: Primarily onsite, with flexibility potentially considered subject to operational requirements (no working from home arrangements should be expected with this engagement)
Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week
Initial term: 12 months
Extension: Up to 6 months
Expected commencement: November ****
Clearance: Active Baseline or higher
Rate
We expect this role to pay approximately $*****/hr which is an attractive package for a SFIA 2 position.
