Build and ship GitLab CI/CD pipelines service by service
n
Implement CodeDeploy canary deployments, multi-region orchestration with manual gates, automated rollback on CloudWatch alarms and smoke tests
n
Migrate services from the legacy deployment system to self-contained per-repository pipelines
n
Run old and new pipelines in parallel for zero-risk cutover
n
Validate migrations against live production traffic and confirm service health
n
Complete pre-migration audits to identify what to retain, redesign or remove
n
Make pragmatic engineering decisions within the agreed architecture and Pipeline Construction Standard
n
Coordinate with development teams on production deployment windows
n
Validate environment configurations so teams can verify services after migration
n
Document decisions, issues and fixes in repositories
n
Improve the Pipeline Construction Standard and reference patterns
n
Contribute to shared GitLab CI templates, CDK construct libraries and self-service tooling
n
Work within a hands-on team of 4–6 engineers alongside the Lead Platform Engineer
n
Support deployment experiences for approximately 250 active repositories across Lambda, ECS Fargate, ECS Windows, EC2 and S3/CloudFront in four production regions
n

Requirements
n
n
Deep experience with GitLab CI/CD, including multi-stage pipelines, environments, manual gates, shared templates and self-hosted runners
n
AWS CodeDeploy experience with canary/blue-green deployments and automated rollback
n
Multi-region orchestration across Lambda, ECS/Fargate and EC2
n
Solid working knowledge of IAM cross-account roles, CloudFormation and SSM Parameter Store
n
Track record delivering a migration or modernisation program in a live production environment
n
Strong shell scripting and AWS CLI fluency
n
Ability to build pipelines supporting AI-assisted and agent-driven workflows
n
AWS CDK experience in TypeScript or Python
n
Experience migrating away from legacy CI/CD systems, including parallel running and flag-based cutover
n
Experience with .NET build pipelines, including dotnet publish and zip packaging
n
Knowledge of DORA metrics and deployment frequency observability
n
Developer experience design, self-service tooling, repository templates and internal platform thinking
n
AWS certifications such as DevOps Engineer Professional or Solutions Architect are desirable
n
