Financial Controller

Salary: $210,000 – $230,000 + super, depending on experience

We are partnering with a well-established and growing logistics business to appoint a Financial Controller to lead the finance function and play a key role in the ongoing growth and development of the business.
n
This is a broad, hands‐on Financial Controller position that will suit someone who enjoys being close to the numbers while also partnering with senior leadership on commercial and strategic decisions.
n
Logistics experience is not essential. We are more interested in finding the right person, someone commercially minded, technically strong, confident managing a finance function and comfortable operating in a fast‐paced environment.

The Role
n

Lead and oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting function.
n
Own the month-end, year-end and financial reporting processes.
n
Establish and maintain solid financial controls, policies and procedures.
n
Provide senior management with clear insight into financial performance, risks and opportunities.
n
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including analysis of variances and corrective actions.
n
Monitor cash flow, working capital and the company's overall financial position.
n
Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements.
n
Manage relationships with external auditors and other key financial stakeholders.
n




Provide commercial and financial input into business development initiatives, investments and other strategic projects.
n
Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and the overall effectiveness of the finance function.
n
Lead, develop and mentor the finance team, creating a high‐performing and collaborative environment.
n
Partner closely with operational and senior leadership teams to support business performance and growth.

About You
n
We are looking for a confident and commercially minded finance professional who can take ownership of a broad Financial Controller remit.
n
You will ideally bring
n
n
CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
n
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
n
Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance position.
n
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial controls.
n
Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
n
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insights.
n
Proven experience leading, developing and supporting a finance team.
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
A proactive, hands‐on approach and the ability to operate independently.
n
Strong attention to detail, organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities.
n
n
Experience within logistics, freight, supply chain or a similarly operational environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
