This role is based within our Qantas Lounges at Canberra Airport, our Food & Beverage Restaurant Manager will bring genuine passion for hospitality and service to create a welcoming and memorable pre-flight experience for every guest.
n
This hands on leadership role is responsible for supporting and overseeing daily lounge operations, managing food & beverage services and leading our front of house team to consistently deliver high standards.
n
Key duties of this role include, but are not limited to;
n
n
Lead by example in delivering efficient, friendly and skilled food & beverage service
n
Manage daily front of house operations to ensure the lounge runs smoothly and service standards are consistently maintained
n
Support menu planning and service offerings in consultation with the culinary team
n
Plan and coordinate staff events, functions and lounge activations
n
Coordinate VIP service requirements and operational delivery during busy Chairman's Lounge periods
n
Manage the purchasing and pricing of beverages and operational supplies in accordance with approved budgets
n
Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate records relating to stock, wastage and relevant financial transaction
n
Ensure dining, bar, buffet and service areas comply with food safety, workplace health safety and hygiene requirements and remain clean, functional and professionally presented
n
Engage with guest, respond to feedback and effectively resolve concerns relating to meals, beverages and service
n
Support the selection, induction, training and development of new and current food & beverage team members
n
Allocate duties, coordinate workflow and provide ongoing coaching and feedback of food & beverage team members
n
Greet guest and assist with food & beverage orders when operationally required
n
Act as a key point of contact for operational stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional communication across the lounges
n
Respond to operational incidents, emergencies and security matters in accordance with airport, Qantas and Accor procedures
n
Foster an inclusive, positive and engaged workplace culture by being a role model for all food & beverage team members
n

Qualifications
n
To be successful in this role, you will have a genuine passion for hospitality and demonstrated experience leading a team within a fast-paced food & beverage environment.
n
You will also have:
n
n
A relevant qualification in hospitality management, such as a Diploma or higher qualification
n
A minimum three years relevant full-time experience in hospitality management within a restaurant, cafe, hotel, airport lounge or similar food & beverage operations
n
Demonstrated experience managing team members and coordinating daily food & beverage operations
n
Experience with stock control, purchasing, operational budgets and record keeping
n
Knowledge of food safety, workplace health and safety and responsible service of alcohol
n
Strong communication, organisation, leaderships and problem solving skills
n
The ability to work Full-Time across a seven day rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
n
A current responsible service of alcohol (RSA), or the ability to obtain one
n
The ability to successfully obtain and maintain Aviation Security Identification Card, including completion of required security background checks
n
