Role Description
n
Nova Group Pacific is seeking a Junior–Mid Level Geotechnical Engineer to support projects throughout the Nowra, Ulladulla and Batemans Bay areas.
n
This full-time role offers varied, hands-on experience across both geotechnical and environmental projects, working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive multidisciplinary team.
n
Key responsibilities may include:
n
n
Supporting geotechnical investigations, including site classifications, field logging, site inspections and drilling supervision.
n
Assisting with geotechnical design and analysis for foundations, earthworks and retaining structures.
n
Contributing to slope stability and landslide risk assessments.
n
Providing construction-phase support, including site verification and piling supervision.
n
Reviewing field and laboratory data and assisting with soil and waste classifications.
n
Supporting contaminated land and other environmental investigations.
n




Preparing transparent technical reports, calculations and project documentation.
n
Collaborating with geotechnical, environmental and occupational hygiene specialists.
n
Ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant standards, guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience
n
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
n
n
Tertiary qualification in geotechnical or civil engineering, science, geology, or a related field.
n
Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience.
n
Experience or a strong interest in geotechnical investigations, analysis, design and construction support
n
An interest in environmental consulting, including contaminated land investigations and soil or waste classification.
n
The ability to interpret technical data, review laboratory results and contribute to calculations, assessments and reports.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
A practical approach to fieldwork and a commitment to working safely on active construction and remediation sites.
n
The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
n
An understanding of, or willingness to learn, relevant Australian standards, environmental regulations and industry guidelines.
n
n
Experience with contaminated land assessments, groundwater or surface-water investigations, landfill or waste-facility projects, occupational hygiene or asbestos-related work would be beneficial but is not essential.
n
The successful candidate will also be encouraged to work towards chartered or professional engineering status and pursue relevant industry certifications as their career develops.
