Reporting to the
Senior Engineer - Mining
, you will provide technical expertise across mine planning, scheduling, production reporting and operational improvement initiatives.
Working closely with operational teams, geologists, surveyors and drill and blast personnel, you will contribute to safe, efficient and sustainable mining outcomes.
This role operates on an
8 days on, 6 days off (8/6) roster
, providing an excellent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop short, medium and long-term mine plans and schedules
Prepare mine designs and monitor adherence to plan
Provide technical advice and support to mine operations
Analyse mining methods and equipment performance to identify improvement opportunities
Generate production reports and support progress claim reporting
Collaborate with operational stakeholders to ensure practical and achievable mine plans
Work closely with geology, survey and drill & blast teams to optimise mine outcomes
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the operation
Promote and demonstrate strong safety leadership and compliance with site standard
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering preferred, Civil Engineering considered)
Previous experience within an open cut coal mining environment
Strong mine planning and scheduling capability
Experience using Vulcan, Deswik, Spry or similar mining software
Current Standard 11 and Current Queensland Coal Board Medical (or ability to obtain)
Solid communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
