About the Role
This position plays a vital role in facilitating high-quality community facilities that support connection, wellbeing and social cohesion across the region.
Working within Community Strengthening, the team manages a diverse portfolio of venues and community spaces, creating opportunities for residents, local organisations and event organisers to come together, collaborate and thrive.
As part of one of Australia's most sustainable and liveable regions, you'll contribute to facilities that have a meaningful impact on the community every day.
As a Venue Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating bookings and supporting the delivery of events across Council's community venues.
This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where no two days are the same.
You'll work closely with customers, stakeholders, suppliers and colleagues to ensure events run smoothly,



venues remain accessible and compliant, and exceptional customer service is delivered at every stage of the booking journey.
Your work will directly contribute to vibrant community experiences and the successful activation of Council's community spaces.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee bookings and events across Council's community venues and spaces.
Provide exceptional customer service and manage event enquiries in a high-volume setting.
Maintain accurate booking, client and financial information within the Momentus booking system.
Collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers and internal teams to deliver successful events safely, on time and within budget.
About you
You bring experience in business administration, venue operations, local government or a related field, along with the ability to apply policies, procedures and sound business practices confidently.
You're highly organised and thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while consistently delivering quality outcomes and meeting deadlines.
You are a customer service professional with exceptional communication skills, capable of building positive relationships, resolving issues and creating outstanding client experiences.
You're comfortable working with digital systems and databases, enjoy collaborating with others and can confidently work both independently and as part of a high-performing team.
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending.




As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
