At SEM Fire & Rescue, you help build the specialised emergency vehicles that firefighters and emergency responders rely on when every second counts.

For more than 65 years, SEM has been designing and manufacturing industry-leading Fire & Rescue vehicles used across Australia and around the world. From frontline firefighting appliances to specialised emergency response vehicles, our work helps protect communities when they need it most.

Based in Ballarat and part of the Australian-owned Varley Group, we're continuing to grow and and are looking for an experienced Auto Electrician to join our team

The Opportunity
n
As an Auto Electrician, you'll play a ket role in bringing our emergency vehicles to life.
n
Working alongside experienced tradespeople, engineers and production teams, you'll complete electrical installations, diagnostics, programming and testing across a range of specialist vehicle builds.
n
No two projects are the same, providing plenty of variety and opportunities to expand your skills.
n
What You'll Be Doing
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Installing and terminating wiring harnesses and electrical systems
n
Completing electrical fit-outs on emergency service vehicles
n
Diagnosing and fault-finding electrical issues
n
Programming and commissioning vehicle systems
n
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
n
Testing and verifying vehicle electrical operations
n
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
n
Maintaining SEM's quality and safety standards throughout the build process
n
n
About You
n
You'll be someone who takes pride in your workmanship and enjoys solving problems.
n
Ideally, you'll have:
n
n
A trade qualification as an Auto Electrician
n
Experience in automotive electrical systems and diagnostics
n
Strong fault-finding capabilities
n
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
n
A commitment to quality and safety
n
A positive attitude and team-first approach
n
Excellent attention to detail
n
n
Experience within a heavy vehicles, emergency vehicles, manufacturing or specialised vehicle builds will be highly regarded, but isn't essential.
n
