We are seeking an experienced Senior Communications Advisor (AO6) to join a high‐profile Communications and Stakeholder Engagement team supporting some of Queensland's most significant transport infrastructure projects, including The Wave Stage 3 (Metro) and the Mooloolah River Interchange (MRI) Upgrade.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of major project delivery, partnering with project teams, contractors and stakeholders to help deliver transformational infrastructure across the Sunshine Coast.

About the role
n
As Senior Communications Advisor, you'll lead communications and stakeholder engagement activities for designated project packages and act as a trusted communications advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
n
You'll be responsible for:
n
n
Developing and delivering communications and stakeholder engagement strategies for major infrastructure project packages.
n
Acting as a key communications interface between the company and contractor delivery teams.
n
Building strong relationships with contractors,



project teams, government agencies, local councils, businesses, community groups and impacted stakeholders.
n
Providing strategic advice to project managers and contractor representatives on communications, engagement, reputation management and emerging issues.
n
Quality checking communications and engagement materials to ensure they meet departmental standards and project requirements.
n
Coordinating construction communications including project notifications, community engagement activities, stakeholder briefings and issue management responses.
n
Identifying and helping mitigate stakeholder and community risks associated with construction and project delivery.
n
Monitoring community sentiment and stakeholder feedback and providing recommendations to support project decision‐making.
n
Representing the government at meetings with contractors, stakeholders and community representatives.
n

About you
n
We're looking for a confident and experienced communications professional who thrives in complex, fast‐moving project environments.
n
Construction and/or major infrastructure project experience is highly desirable, particularly experience working through active construction and delivery phases.
n
You'll ideally bring:
n
n
Demonstrated experience delivering communications and stakeholder engagement activities within major construction, infrastructure, transport, alliance, joint venture or contractor‐delivered environments.
n
Experience working within integrated project teams involving multiple organisations, disciplines and delivery partners.
n
Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
n
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn complex technical information into clear and accessible messaging.
n
Strong judgement and experience managing issues, risks and sensitive stakeholder matters.
n
A proactive, solutions‐focused approach with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
n




Experience supporting communications during active construction or major project delivery.
n
Knowledge of transport infrastructure and the stakeholder environment associated with major projects will be highly regarded.
n

Highly desirable experience
n
Candidates with any of the following will be particularly encouraged to apply:

Major transport infrastructure experience.
n
Construction project communications experience.
n
Experience working directly with principal contractors, alliance teams, joint ventures or major project consortia.
n
Experience managing community and stakeholder communications during construction.
n
Experience supporting significant construction milestones, traffic changes, disruptions or project impacts.
n
IAP2 certification or equivalent stakeholder engagement qualifications.
n
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline.

Contract & working arrangements

Contract period: 1 October ********* September ****

Pay rate: $***** – $***** per hour + super
n
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
n
Business hours: Monday to Friday, between 7:00am and 6:00pm
n
Location: Sunshine Coast, Queensland
n
Overtime must be approved by the relevant Line Manager prior to being worked. Public holidays are non‐working days.
n
If required, appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards.
