HARI MTL PTY LTD t/a Ribs Lane Mount Lawley WA **** Salary: $79,500 – $82,000 per annum + 12% superannuation Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Work Location: In person Occupation: Cafe or Restaurant Manager About Ribs Lane Ribs Lane is a busy restaurant in Mount Lawley focused on providing quality food, effective service and a positive dining experience for our customers.
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cafe or Restaurant Manager to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.
The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, supervising staff, maintaining high customer service standards, managing stock and operational costs, and ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently during both regular and busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities Your duties will include: Plan menus in consultation with Chefs, taking into account customer preferences, seasonal availability, food costs and overall menu performance.
Plan and coordinate restaurant functions, group bookings, special occasions and busy service periods.
Arrange the purchasing of food, beverages, packaging, cleaning products and other restaurant supplies within established budgets.
Liaise with suppliers regarding product availability, pricing, deliveries and stock requirements.
Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stock controls to minimise wastage and unnecessary costs.
Maintain accurate records relating to stock, purchases, supplier orders, sales, wastage and restaurant transactions.
Assist with operational budgeting, cost control and monitoring the financial performance of the restaurant.
Oversee the daily operation of dine-in, takeaway and customer service areas.
Ensure dining and service areas are clean, functional, appropriately presented and compliant with applicable health and hygiene requirements.




Monitor food and service standards to maintain a consistently positive customer experience.
Communicate with customers to assess satisfaction with meals, service and their overall dining experience.
Respond to customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Recruit, train, roster, supervise and support front-of-house, kitchen and other restaurant staff.
Allocate duties and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient restaurant operations.
Coordinate communication between kitchen and front-of-house employees to support smooth and timely service.
Conduct staff briefings and provide ongoing guidance regarding service procedures and workplace expectations.
Oversee opening and closing procedures, reservations, POS operations, cash handling, dine-in service and takeaway orders.
Assist with greeting customers, seating guests, managing reservations and taking orders when required during busy periods.
Ensure staff follow established restaurant policies, procedures and customer service standards.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety requirements and other relevant restaurant procedures.
Support management with continuous improvements to restaurant operations, service quality and overall customer satisfaction.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this position, applicants must have: Diploma of Hospitality Management or a relevant equivalent qualification.
At least 2 years of full-time relevant experience as a Cafe or Restaurant Manager in a busy hospitality venue.




Demonstrated experience managing the day-to-day operations of a cafe or restaurant.
Experience supervising, training and rostering front-of-house and kitchen staff.
Practical experience with stock control, inventory management, purchasing and supplier coordination.
Good understanding of restaurant budgeting, food costs and operational cost control.
Experience maintaining stock, sales, purchasing and transaction records.
Strong understanding of restaurant customer service and service delivery standards.
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Experience dealing effectively with customer enquiries, feedback and complaints.
Ability to coordinate kitchen and front-of-house operations during busy service periods.
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to remain organised and work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Strong commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
Flexibility to work according to restaurant operational requirements, including evenings and weekends where required.
