MADEC is looking for a passionate, culturally aware professional to support Indigenous people and communities through our Indigenous Wellbeing Support (IWS) and Indigenous Youth Leadership (IYLP) programs in Berri.
We have a 3-day per week opportunity available within our Indigenous Wellbeing Support Program, with the potential to combine this with 2 days per week coordinating our Indigenous Youth Leadership Program – creating a full-time role for the right candidate.

The opportunity 3 days – Indigenous Support Coordinator Working within our Indigenous Wellbeing Support Program, you'll work alongside Indigenous individuals and families impacted by alcohol and other drug use, contact with the criminal justice system, and family and domestic violence.
Providing individualised, culturally responsive support, you'll help people navigate complex circumstances and strengthen connections with appropriate community and specialist services.
You'll: Build trusted, respectful relationships with clients and families Conduct assessments and develop individual support plans Provide ongoing case management and mentoring Connect clients with appropriate Indigenous and mainstream services Build relationships with community organisations and service providers Promote the program and strengthen local referral pathways Maintain accurate records and meet program and reporting requirements + 2 days – Indigenous Youth Leadership Program Coordinator For candidates interested in a full-time opportunity, there is potential to combine the above position with two days coordinating MADEC's Indigenous Youth Leadership Program.
The IYLP supports Indigenous secondary students to access greater educational opportunities, pursue their aspirations and develop their leadership potential.
In this part of the role, you'll: Work closely with Indigenous students, families, schools and communities Coordinate student applications and selection processes Support student placements and enrolments with participating education providers Build strong relationships with schools and community stakeholders Support orientation, study tours and student activities Promote the program within communities Represent MADEC at relevant events and functions Coordinate program administration, reporting and contractual requirements The program is designed not only to support students' educational aspirations, but to help develop future leaders and positive role models within Indigenous communities.
What you'll bring Across both programs, we're looking for someone who can build genuine relationships and work respectfully and effectively with Indigenous people, families and communities.
You'll ideally bring: Experience working with Indigenous people and/or community programs Strong Indigenous cultural awareness Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Experience coordinating services, programs,



referrals or community initiatives Strong organisation and time management skills Confidence working with a range of community and qualified stakeholders The ability to manage program administration, reporting and outcomes A current driver's licence A Working with Children Check and National Police Check are also required.
