Nestled in the serene suburban surroundings of Pennant Hills, this café has carved a niche for itself as a hub for locals and visitors alike, offering a delightful dining experience with a community-focused ethos.
Sunny Side WPH is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, complete with a fenced cubby house for kids and dog-friendly outdoor seating.
The café emphasizes fresh, garden-to-table ingredients grown in its on-site veggie garden.
The café's menu reflects a dedication to quality and freshness, with dishes crafted from locally sourced and seasonal ingredients.
Sunny Side WPH offers an All-Day Menu, allowing patrons to enjoy breakfast classics like smashed avocado on toast, eggs benedict, or their signature Big Boy Pancakes at any time of the day.
The Lunch Menu features hearty and flavorful options such as gourmet burgers, seasonal vegetable salads, and sandwiches.
On Friday evenings, the café transitions into a dinner venue, serving a special Dinner Menu that includes dishes like pasta, steaks, and indulgent desserts.
We require a Chef to join our team.
Duties and responsibilities include : Assist the Head Chef ensuring that fresh food and the full menu choice is available Plan menus and produce quality daily and seasonal changes of menus Develop standard recipes and techniques for high-quality food preparation Produce menu descriptions, costing and breakdown of all dishes available Participate in the preparation and cooking, demonstration, production,



and delivery of menus Ensure consistency of food quality and presentation Interact with leadership to assure that food production consistently exceeds the expectations of clients and guests Manage the kitchen operation efficiently and professionally Report any staff shortages to the Head Chef on duty for further management action Monitor, order and maintain the stock of all kitchen supplies and cleaning supplies and to ensure sufficient levels are available as required.
Determine food or beverage costs and estimate amounts and costs of required supplies Ensure freezing and preserving food and that waste is kept to a minimum Keep current on pulse of the guests, constantly seeking opportunities to follow up on their experience Prepare reports summarizing food and beverage profitability, customer satisfaction Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs if required Oversee and monitor the work of kitchen staff to ensure all tasks are done as required Proactively identify risks and eliminate accidents from the workplace by promoting an excellent Health Safety culture and practices among staff Ensure and enforce food safety procedure and report all complaints and incidents affecting health or hygiene to the Head Chef Provide training, develop and maintain a professional culinary staff Key requirements : AQF Certificate IV or above recognized Commercial Cookery qualification Minimum 2 years' experience in large commercial kitchens Experience in Australian cuisine Able to adapt to busy periods with a sense of urgency Robust knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices Sound knowledge of Food safety standards, relevant legislation, and statutory obligations A passion for food and beverage Enthusiasm and commitment to high standards of customer service Creativity relevant to menu development and process creation Strong financial acumen relevant to labour and cost control.
This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week.
A remuneration package of $79,500 per annum will be offered to the successful candidate.
