All Age Music is a Sydney-based music school offering private and group lessons, in-school tuition, workshops, holiday programs and performance opportunities for students of all ages across a wide range of instruments and vocals.
All Age Music is looking for an experienced Piano Teacher to join their team.
The right candidate will be responsible for: Planning structured piano tuition programs for individual students and small groups according to their age, ability, experience and learning objectives.
Teaching music theory, notation, rhythm, harmony, sight-reading and other theoretical concepts relevant to piano performance.
Demonstrating piano techniques, including posture, fingering, scales, chord progressions, articulation, dynamics and interpretation.
Selecting and assigning appropriate pieces, technical exercises and practice activities based on each student's level, progress and musical interests.
Assessing students' technical development, musical understanding and performance skills, and providing constructive feedback, encouragement and guidance.
Adapting lesson content, teaching materials and instructional methods to accommodate different learning styles, abilities and rates of progression.
Preparing students for practical and theory examinations, auditions, assessments, recitals and other performance opportunities.
Monitoring and recording student progress and establishing appropriate short-term and long-term learning goals.
Keeping current with developments in piano pedagogy, teaching methods, examination requirements, repertoire and contemporary music education practices.
Supporting and organising student participation in concerts, recitals, workshops and other performance activities conducted by the music school.
About you: At least one year of relevant experience as a Piano Teacher; Strong piano performance skills and sound knowledge of music theory, notation, rhythm, harmony and sight-reading.
Ability to plan and deliver structured lessons tailored to students of different ages, abilities and learning objectives.
Robust communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain musical concepts clearly and provide constructive feedback.
Ability to assess student progress, identify areas for improvement and adapt teaching methods and materials accordingly.
Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prepare students for examinations, assessments, auditions and performances.
Patience, creativity and the ability to motivate and encourage students while supporting their musical development and confidence.
Job Type: Permanent/Full-time Salary: $79,000 - $85,000 per annum
