Job Description Organisation: Metro South Health Location: Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence, Inala Employment: Temporary Full-time Classification: Nurse Grade 6 (1) Job Reference: QLD/MS******** Applications Close: 25 September **** Lead culturally safe, person-centred care for our communities Metro South Health is seeking an experienced Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Registered Nurse to join the HOMES team within the Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care at Inala.
This is an opportunity to bring together your clinical expertise, cultural knowledge and commitment to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
As Clinical Nurse, you will provide advanced nursing care and clinical leadership for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients living with complex health and chronic disease needs.
About the role Working as part of the HOMES team, you will: Provide advanced clinical assessment, care planning, coordination and case management for clients with complex chronic health conditions.
Deliver holistic and person-centred nursing care that recognises clients' physical, social, emotional and cultural needs.
Build trusted and respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, families and communities.
Support clients to navigate health services and achieve improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
Provide clinical leadership, mentoring, education and support to other members of the healthcare team.
Apply culturally safe and evidence-based nursing practice.
Contribute to professional development and continuous improvement across the service.
About you Metro South Health is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse who combines advanced clinical capability with a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and culturally safe practice.
You will bring:



Demonstrated advanced clinical nursing skills.
Experience in chronic disease nursing and caring for people with complex health needs.
Strong knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and culture.
A demonstrated commitment to culturally safe and respectful healthcare.
Highly developed assessment, care planning, coordination and case management capability.
Strong clinical leadership skills.
Well-developed critical thinking, problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills.
The ability to establish trusted relationships with clients, families, communities and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

About the Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence The Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care is based at Inala and provides a range of culturally responsive health services.
These include GP, nursing and allied health clinical services, specialist clinics, the Mums and Bubs program and integrated mental health and substance use services.




The Centre also works closely with Elders and community representatives and undertakes research aimed at improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
