Currently, we are looking for mechanical engineers for multiple roles to join our team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Mechanical Design Engineering
1. Design and develop mechanical systems, components and assemblies used in semi-trailers and associated transport equipment.
2. Prepare and review engineering drawings, CAD models, technical specifications, bills of materials and manufacturing documentation.
3. Perform engineering calculations and technical analysis relating to loads, stresses, dimensions, material properties, component capacities and mechanical performance.
4. Design and review trailer chassis arrangements, axle and suspension configurations, landing gear, coupling arrangements and other mechanical assemblies.
5. Select appropriate materials, components and mechanical equipment based on engineering calculations, operating conditions, safety, durability and manufacturing requirements.
6. Review existing trailer designs and recommend engineering modifications to improve safety, reliability, durability, manufacturability and product performance.
Manufacturing Engineering Support
7. Provide qualified engineering support to fabrication, welding, assembly and production personnel during trailer manufacturing.
8. Review manufacturing drawings and specifications and resolve technical issues identified during fabrication and assembly.

Develop manufacturing specifications, engineering instructions and technical requirements for mechanical components and assemblies.
10. Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure products are manufactured according to approved engineering drawings and specifications.
11. Investigate manufacturing problems and develop technically appropriate engineering solutions.
12. Coordinate implementation of engineering changes and ensure revised drawings, specifications and technical information are communicated to relevant departments.
Testing, Inspection Quality Engineering
13. Establish engineering requirements and standards for inspection, testing and quality control of manufactured trailers and mechanical components.
14. Conduct or coordinate engineering inspections and testing to verify that mechanical systems and components meet design specifications and performance requirements.
15. Analyse test and inspection results and recommend corrective actions where engineering requirements have not been achieved.
16. Investigate product defects, mechanical failures and non-conformances using engineering and root-cause-analysis principles.
17. Develop corrective and preventive engineering actions to reduce recurrence of mechanical failures and manufacturing defects.
18. Provide technical engineering support for quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
Plant, Machinery Maintenance Engineering
19. Inspect manufacturing machinery, mechanical equipment and plant systems to assess performance, condition, reliability and maintenance requirements.
20. Assist in developing preventive maintenance schedules and technical maintenance requirements for manufacturing machinery and mechanical equipment.
21. Investigate unexpected equipment failures and recommend appropriate engineering repairs, modifications or replacement.
22. Develop technical specifications and engineering requirements for new machinery, equipment, tooling and manufacturing systems.
23. Support the installation, commissioning and performance verification of new or modified mechanical equipment.
Supplier Component Engineering
24. Review technical specifications for purchased mechanical components, materials and equipment.
25. Provide engineering input into supplier and component selection based on technical suitability,



quality and product requirements.
26. Evaluate supplier drawings, specifications, certificates and technical documentation against engineering requirements.
27. Work with purchasing and quality personnel to resolve technical issues associated with supplier components or materials.
Engineering Documentation Compliance
28. Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, calculations, technical reports, specifications, inspection records, test reports and engineering change documentation.
29. Maintain appropriate engineering records and ensure current approved engineering information is available to manufacturing personnel.
30. Ensure engineering activities are performed in accordance with applicable engineering principles, workplace safety requirements and relevant Australian regulatory and technical requirements.
31. Provide technical engineering information required for product certification, inspections and regulatory compliance where applicable.
Projects Continuous Improvement
32. Participate in engineering projects involving new trailer designs, product improvements, manufacturing equipment and production improvements.
33. Coordinate engineering requirements relating to materials, equipment, technical resources and project schedules.
34. Analyse product, production and field-performance information to identify opportunities for engineering improvement.
35. Recommend improvements to trailer design, mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, equipment reliability, product quality and production efficiency.
36. Provide professional mechanical engineering advice to management and other departments when required.
What we're looking for • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design or a related discipline.
• At least one year experience in SolidWorks.
• Previous experience in trailer manufacturing, heavy duty, automotive, fabrication will be highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks required.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
• Knowledge of Australian vehicle/trailer compliance requirements and relevant standards.
• Understanding of structural design, welding and fabricated steel components.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication and time management skills.
Salary - $82,000 - $90,000 plus super Only eligible and short-listed candidates will be considered.
