About the Role We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our growing technology team in Sydney.
Working within a fast-paced financial services environment, you will design, develop, and support high-quality applications that underpin critical business functions.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions while contributing to the ongoing evolution of our technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications.
Build scalable, secure, and resilient backend services and APIs.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software.
Participate in system design, technical planning, and architectural discussions.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.
Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tooling, and engineering standards.
Ensure applications comply with security, regulatory, and compliance requirements relevant to financial services.
Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployment practices.
Required Skills Experience 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
Strong experience developing applications in Java (Java 11 or above).




Exposure to Kotlin development.
Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
Experience with Spring Boot and the wider Spring ecosystem.
Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
Experience using Git and modern CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with automated testing frameworks including JUnit and Mockito.
Understanding of secure coding practices and application performance optimisation.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Desirable Experience Experience working within banking, financial services, insurance, wealth management, or fintech environments.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies including Scrum or Kanban.
Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or Dynatrace.
