Position: Motel Manager Position Type : Full-Time Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: Glen Innes NSW **** Our client is seeking an experienced Motel Manager to join their Motel in Glen Innes, New South Wales.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: This is a senior position in the organisation, managing operational requirements on a day-to-day basis this includes and not limited to: Managing the operational requirements of the Tavern and Hotel on a day-to-day basis Management of beverage, gaming and food operations Ensure strong and effective communication with all management and staff Direct employees to carry out their duties in the relevant area/areas of the venue Ensuring compliance with the Liquor and Gaming Act in Queensland and all other relevant legislation Maintaining a safe and comfortable setting for staff and guests Managing to company standards and expectations including cleanliness and presentation Consistently ensuring a high level of customer service is delivered Maintaining a high standard of communication Provide feedback and ideas or to advise when issues are sited Solve problems and present solutions for all aspects of the operation To monitor all staff to ensure the business remains cost effective and is decisions are to standard and revenue focused Approve time sheets Train staff and demonstrate a firm ability to delegate for the best possible operational outcomes.
Understanding we are a small team each duty manager will be responsible for the management and delivery of specific tasks and operations within the hotel.
This includes monitoring, managing, guiding and training the team (including liaison with other managers) to deliver on goals and expectations.
Specific responsibilities include: Cleaning and hygiene of the entire operation.
This includes ensuring training and the everyday delivery of the operation (Tavern and accommodation and grounds) is to standard.
Working with other managers (including the kitchen) to direct the team, suggest changes to rosters or to change/ update daily/ weekly tasks for the team to ensure standards are met.
Managing guest accommodation standards and cleaning requirements.
Liaise with Housekeeping leadership to ensure rooms are maintained to a standard; this includes checking rooms and the accommodation external areas each shift.
Check guest accommodation daily to ensure room readiness.
Maintain an up-to-date audit of room improvements, furniture upgrades and feedback on rooms to adequately advise other managers, cleaning staff and maintenance of work required.
Liaise with the accommodation administrator Gardens management.Ensure gardens and outdoor areas to standard.
Again, to ensure other staff adequately work to support this.
Bottle shop management includes stock control, signage and developing weekly/ monthly bottle shop specials in advance and advising the person responsible for social media of what should/ needs to be promoted.
Develop a calendar of events, giveaways (bottles shop and bar) and promotional ideas for the hotel across the year.
This task is to include when and where promotions need to be timed and work with other managers to coordinate this promotion and any special requirements.
Each new member of the team must undergo intensive training and be provided a familiarisation with the entire operation with explanation of expectation and standards.This is a shared responsibility with other managers.
Develop a promotional plan for gaming in accordance with Gaming Act.
Inventory and ordering of all supplies including alcohol, equipment, chemicals etc. (not food).
Orders to be approved by the General Manager.
In relation to ordering, source the best price where necessary and to work with other team members to ascertain what is required, and if required, order in a timely manner.
Responsible to ensure all invoices for stock are inputted.
Update invoices daily or on a regular basis.
If this duty manager is away, they are to leave notes for the other duty manager to input in their absence and ensure these tasks are completed by other team members.
Liaison with staff relating to all staff accommodation.
Manage all staff accommodation this includes inspecting staff accommodation monthly to ensure living areas are kept to the rental agreement standard and Dooleys provides the required level of maintenance.
To support other duty managers, general manager and owners.
Requirements: Possess at least a Diploma or equivalent qualification in hotel management or relevant field.
Must possess at least 1 - 2 years of relevant experience to be considered for this position Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Exercise care and skill in the performance of work Exercise good faith and act in the Employer's interests at all times Not disclose confidential information about the Employer's business.
