We are looking for an experienced practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team to provide therapeutic support and stepped care interventions to children and young people experiencing the impact of a loved one's addiction.
n
About The Role
n
The Family Recovery Counsellor will have the skills to facilitate eligibility, suitability, and psychosocial assessments, with the aim of delivering person-centred counselling interventions and therapeutic and psycho-education group facilitation, in addition to making suitable referrals and providing advocacy as needed.
n
These interventions are designed to support and aid the recovery of children and young people affected by the negative consequences of drug, alcohol, gambling, and other addiction-related harm.
n
Some Of Your Duties Will Be
n
n
Application of family systems theory and developmentally appropriate clinical interventions
n
Deliver risk assessments, triaging, referral and case management services
n
Assisting the Practice Manager in the collation and provision of reports and statistical information
n




Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including cross agency peers and assist in the planning and facilitation of community engagement activities
n

Our services are provided both during and after hours from a variety of locations with the main site being Lewisham.
n

About You
n
To be a successful candidate you will have:
n
n
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology and equivalent demonstrated experience
n
Membership of, or eligibility for, appropriate professional bodies (ie. AHPRA/APS, AASW, ACA, CAPA or PACFA)
n
Demonstrated knowledge of current mental health, drug health, child protection and domestic violence legislation
n
Experience in working with clients and families dealing with drug health issues and addictions
n
Understanding of the needs and issues of the partners or other family members or friends affected by addictions
n
Ability to conduct community engagement activities with the aim of minimising harm and building referral pathways
n
Demonstrated experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
