Assess vehicle damage and determine repair requirements
n
Plan and coordinate repair work
n
Prepare damage reports, repair records and photographs
n
Construct and repair vehicle frameworks
n
Straighten and align damaged frames and chassis
n
Replace damaged panels and structural components
n
Cut and weld replacement sections using MIG, silicon bronze and spot welding
n
Remove and repair damaged/deformed panels
n
Work with sheet metal, aluminium and reinforced plastics
n
Repair dents, rust, chips and scrapes
n
Prepare surfaces for painting
n
Modify vehicles according to customer requirements
n
Carry out fabrication on custom, vintage and specialty vehicles
n
Maintain high-quality workmanship and meet deadlines
n
Work safely and collaboratively within the workshop
n

Requirements
n
Mandatory:
n
AQF Certificate III + 2 years on-the-job training OR AQF Certificate IV
n
Current Class C Driver's Licence minimum
n
MR/HR Licence preferred
n
Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in vehicle body building, fabrication or panel shop work
n




Hands-on experience in vehicle panel repair and body work
n
Experience in vehicle fabrication and structural/framework repair
n
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
n
Experience with cutting, shaping, fitting and welding
n
Experience with MIG welding, silicon bronze and spot welding
n
Experience working with steel, aluminium and reinforced plastics
n
Ability to repair/replace damaged panels and structural components
n
Knowledge of automotive safety standards and regulations
n
Positive written and verbal English communication
n
Strong attention to detail and quality
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
n
Preferred:
n
Commercial vehicle/heavy equipment experience
n
Supervisory or apprenticeship training experience
n
n
Salary: AUD $76,423 per annum
n
Superannuation: Additional to the salary
n
