Job Description
Work towards obtaining a nationally recognised Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
n Learn to diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of heavy vehicles and mobile plant equipment
n Complete on-the-job learning with qualified tradespeople
n Undertake formal technical training and assessments
n Attend TAFE and external training courses
n Work across different Western Power locations as required for training or rotations
n Perform physical, hands-on work outdoors in varying weather conditions
n Travel to different work locations and remote locations
n Follow strict safety procedures
n Participate in potential overtime or emergency response work
n
Requirements
n
n
Must be 16 years or older to apply
n
Cert II in Engineering Foundations or Electrotechnology is highly desirable prior to applying
n
C class driver's licence
n
Minimum of Year 10 secondary education with English and Mathematics skills
n
Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment
n
Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
n
Willingness to obtain a range of high-risk licences
n
Willingness to work shifts consisting of a 75-hour fortnight
n
Willingness to work and travel in remote locations, including travel to TAFE and external training courses
n
Ability to interpret complex instructions, designs and diagrams
n
Ability to operate large equipment such as elevated work platforms and hydraulic drills
n
Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
n
Strict adherence to safety procedures
n
Potential overtime or emergency response work
n
