About the role
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
Key Responsibilities
Support clients to engage in their hobbies including live music, arts and crafts
Support clients with daily personal care such as bathing, shaving and toileting
Medication assistance and administration
Mobility and wheelchair assistance - lifting, transferring and hoisting clients
Mealtime management and PEG feeding
Work across a 24/7 roster, including overnight shifts as needed
Foster community connection and engagement
Empower clients through active supports - promote choice, independence, and participation
Skills & Experience
Ability and willingness to drive a work van for client transportation
Current unrestricted driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
