This is an exciting opportunity to provide expert clinical leadership while shaping the future of perioperative practice, workforce capability and patient care.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, the Perioperative Clinical Nurse Consultant provides advanced clinical leadership and expert perioperative consultation to support safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care.
As a clinical role model and trusted resource, you will support multidisciplinary decision-making, promote professional excellence and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement across perioperative services.A key focus of the role is developing workforce capability through education, competency development, mentoring,
reflective practice and succession planning.
You will identify clinical capability needs, develop targeted education strategies and support the ongoing professional growth of the perioperative team.
You will lead quality improvement, clinical governance, risk management, audit and patient safety initiatives, using clinical indicators and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and supporting accreditation, regulatory compliance, incident investigations and corrective actions.You will play a key role in service development and innovation by identifying and implementing improved models of care, clinical practices, technologies and sustainable solutions.
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary stakeholders, you will drive initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, service efficiency and workforce effectiveness, while championing infection prevention, patient safety and evidence-based practice and supporting the achievement of broader organisational priorities.Who We're Looking ForYou're an experienced nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and improving service delivery.
You bring advanced clinical knowledge, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with patients, clinicians, and stakeholders.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment, confidently manage complex clinical situations, and are committed to driving positive patient outcomes through collaboration and innovation.Essential RequirementsCurrent Registered Nurse registration with AHPRAMinimum 5 years' experience in the ENT, Dental and Head and Neck specialtiesDemonstrated experience leading and implementing quality improvement, patient safety or service development initiatives with measurable outcomesExperience developing, delivering and evaluating education, training and mentoring programsDemonstrated ability to lead change,
