As a Kitchenhand, you will specifically:

and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. * Assist in the preparation and provision of nutritious and varied meals to young persons and staff.




- Adherence to the security and safety of the Youth Detention Centre by observance of operational procedures and standards as they impact on kitchen processes and procedures.
- Maintain a hygienic, protected and secure working environment, including cleanliness of work areas and kitchen equipment.
- Assist in the control of stores and provisions.
- Contribute to an effective system of stock control, e.g. recording and stock takes.
- Undertake administrative procedures in the food services area, including procedures for ordering, storing and distributing stores.
