This is an exciting Clinical Psychologist role at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Pain Management service

About the Role

Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide psychological services to patients referred to the multidisciplinary pain management programme including psychological assessment and treatment of patients with chronic pain and their families. Implicit in this is the delivery and evaluation of the group Pain Management Programmes.

Daily requirements of the role include individual and group clinical interventions, assessments and formulations, and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT).

Ideal Candidate

- A post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology (Masters, and/or Doctorate or PhD).
- Current registration with AHPRA to practice as a psychologist, endorsement in clinical psychology and eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).
- Comprehensive understanding of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and ability to facilitate individual and group programmes utilising this approach.
