We’re looking for a FIFO Laboratory Assistant to join our relief pool based in Perth. In this role, you’ll support different onsite laboratories as needed, helping keep day-to-day testing running smoothly. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys practical work, variety, and being part of a team.
You’ll be comfortable working in a laboratory environment, following transparent procedures, and maintaining accuracy while handling samples.
Responsibilites include however, are not limited to:
- Loading, unloading, sorting and weighing samples onto drying racks
- Making sure samples stay in the correct numerical order at all times
- Analysing mineral samples using laboratory equipment such as ICP, XRF and AAS
- Checking incoming samples against submission forms and recording any missing or extra samples
- Milling samples and transferring sub-samples into packets, following quality and contamination control procedures
- Assisting with screening, crushing and other laboratory tasks as required
