We are now taking the next step in how we build software by transitioning towards an AI native engineering model. This is not simply about adding AI features to our products. It is about fundamentally changing how our engineering teams design, build, test and ship software.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with genuine experience using AI coding agents to accelerate development.

You will work across the full stack within one of our product streams, delivering production quality features while using AI coding agents as a core part of your development workflow. You will provide the architecture, context and direction, critically review the output and ultimately own the quality of everything you ship.

This is not a vibe coding role. We are looking for an experienced engineer who understands what good software looks like and can recognise when AI generated code is correct, secure, performant and appropriate for an established production codebase.

What you will be doing
Full Stack Product Development

• Design, build and deliver production quality features across frontend and backend systems within your product stream

• Use AI coding agents as a primary development tool to generate, test, debug and iterate on code

• Provide AI agents with the architectural context, coding standards and domain knowledge required to produce high quality outputs

• Critically review AI generated code for correctness, performance, security, maintainability and architectural fit before it reaches production

• Determine when AI assisted development is the right approach and when manual implementation will produce a better outcome

• Debug and resolve complex technical issues across the stack using both traditional engineering techniques and AI assisted workflows

Engineering Quality and Architecture

• Work confidently within established system architecture, including database schemas, API contracts, service boundaries and deployment pipelines

• Contribute to technical design discussions, architectural decisions and code reviews

• Maintain and improve automated test coverage across the codebase

• Ensure AI generated code is supported by appropriate testing and meets our engineering standards





• Identify and address technical debt while balancing delivery speed with the long term health of our products

• Take ownership of the quality and production readiness of the software you deliver

AI Native Engineering

• Build and refine prompts, context documents and system instructions that help AI agents understand Rex's architecture, patterns and conventions

• Improve established codebases for agent driven development through clear documentation, AGENTS.md files, Skills and other AI friendly engineering practices

• Experiment with new AI development tools, techniques and workflows to improve engineering productivity

• Identify common failure modes in AI generated code and develop practices that improve the reliability and quality of agent output

• Share effective prompting strategies, workflows and lessons with the wider engineering team

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

• Work closely with Product Managers, Designers and Engineers to deliver against product priorities

• Participate in technical planning, sprint ceremonies, code reviews and engineering discussions

• Mentor and support other engineers through technical collaboration and knowledge sharing

• Help uplift AI native development capability across the broader engineering team

• Contribute ideas and feedback as we continue evolving how software is built at Rex

What we are looking for
Essential

• Strong commercial software engineering experience with the technical depth expected of a Senior Full Stack Developer

• Demonstrated experience delivering software across both frontend and backend systems

• Hands on experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Cody, Aider or similar as part of genuine agent driven development workflows

• Strong software engineering fundamentals across system design, API design, databases, testing and deployment

• The ability to critically assess AI generated code and identify issues relating to performance, security, edge cases, maintainability and architectural fit

• Experience working within established production codebases and making sound technical decisions in complex environments





• Solid debugging and problem solving skills across the full technology stack

• The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work effectively within a collaborative product team

• A portfolio, GitHub profile or personal projects that demonstrate how you use AI within your development process

Nice to have

• Experience with PHP, Laravel, Vue.js, React.js, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Docker, Kubernetes or GCP

• Experience working within SaaS, PropTech or real estate technology

• Familiarity with prompt engineering, context management and techniques for improving AI agent output

• Experience contributing to open source projects or sharing technical knowledge publicly

• Experience working within agile product teams with end to end ownership of software delivery

You have strong engineering judgment and can quickly distinguish between code that simply works and code that belongs in a production environment.

You naturally look for ways to use AI to increase your leverage, but you do not blindly accept its output. You understand that AI generated code still requires engineering ownership, critical thinking and technical expertise.

You are curious about emerging tools and enjoy experimenting with better ways of working. You are equally comfortable diving into frontend code, investigating a backend issue, reviewing an API design or helping an AI agent understand an established architecture.

Most importantly, you take ownership of what you ship. Whether the code was written manually or generated by an AI agent, you are accountable for its quality in production.
