About the role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join TKL Logistics in Naval Base, WA. This is a full-time position based on-site at our Naval Base facility (WA 6165). As a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy vehicles, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency and comply with all safety and regulatory standards. This position is vital to our operations, directly impacting our ability to deliver reliable logistics services to our clients.

Key responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in heavy vehicles and diesel engines

- Perform routine and preventative maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups

- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and document findings in maintenance logs

- Testing and adjusting components to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance

- Liaising with parts suppliers to source necessary components

- Maintaining a clean and organized workshop environment

- Adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies

- Supporting the fleet management team to minimise vehicle downtime

What we're looking for

- Formal qualification in diesel mechanics or heavy vehicle servicing (apprenticeship or equivalent experience)

- Minimum 3 years' experience working on heavy vehicles and diesel engines

- Strong knowledge of engine systems, transmission systems, and brake systems

- Understanding of vehicle safety standards and compliance requirements





- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities

- Reliability and punctuality

- Current driver's licence (Manual HC License would be an advantage)

- Willingness to undertake further training and career development
