ACS Australia is currently seeking a Composites Manufacturing Engineer based at our new advanced manufacturing facility in Altona North.

Key responsibilities and duties:

- Lead project teams to develop and manufacture composite components and assemblies and meet schedule, budget and quality targets.

- Manage customer relationships during the project execution phase.

- Work with design, production, quality teams to ensure composite solutions are manufacturable, repeatable, cost-effective and fit for purpose.

- Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, material data, manufacturing instructions, inspection plans and test requirements.

- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for manufacturing defects, process variation, non-conformance, rework and product performance issues.

- Lead material qualification, tooling development and process capability improvement initiatives.

- Ensure engineering outputs comply with customer requirements,



internal procedures, quality standards and applicable regulatory obligations.

- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, promote best practice and contribute to continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing teams.

- Provide technical support for the preparation of quotations.

Required qualifications, skills and experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials engineering or a related discipline.

- Professional engineering registration.

- Seven or more years of experience in composites engineering, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defence, marine or a comparable technical environment.

- Expert knowledge of composite materials, manufacturing methods, fibre reinforcements and resin systems.

- Competence with CAD, engineering drawings and product lifecycle or document control systems.

- Experience with quality standards such as ISO9001 and AS9100.

Desirable skills:

- Experience with composites design and manufacturing in aerospace, defence or similar regulated industries.

- Experience with root cause analysis, risk assessment, process capability and continuous improvement methods (lean, Six Sigma, etc).

- Experience with Catia V5 part and assembly modelling and drawing creation.

- Experience with NC machine programming and operation (3 axis and robotic systems).
