Job Description

HR / HC Heavy Haulage Driver

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused HR / HC Heavy Haulage Driver to join our team. The role involves operating heavy rigid tilt trays and prime movers towing low-loader floats, transporting oversized and overmass (OSOM) loads, and safely operating mobile plant for loading and unloading. Drivers will have access to a modern fleet, quality trailers and ongoing training.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely load, unload and transport mobile plant including excavators, loaders, rollers and other machinery.

- Operate HR/HC vehicles in accordance with company, client, WHS and legal requirements.

- Navigate metropolitan Adelaide, regional South Australia and OSOM routes safely and efficiently.

- Comply with HVNL, road laws, OSOM permits, mass/dimension requirements and applicable travel conditions.

- Communicate effectively with the transport office, customers and site personnel.

- Complete daily pre-starts, risk assessments, load restraint checks and required transport documentation.

- Use an assigned tablet to track daily work,



complete required paperwork and capture proof of delivery.

- Ensure loads are correctly positioned, secured and transported in accordance with approved procedures.

- Maintain a clean and professional vehicle, with basic trailer checks and general equipment maintenance.

- Report hazards, incidents, vehicle defects, damage or other issues promptly.

- Undertake occasional long-distance and overnight travel to regional areas and interstate.

Ideal Candidate

- Minimum 2 years’ heavy vehicle driving experience.

- Current HC licence minimum.

- Previous heavy haulage, tilt tray, low-loader or OSOM experience highly desirable.

- Sound knowledge of road laws and Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).

- Familiarity with OSOM regulations, permits and approved routes.

- RIIHAN308F – Load and Unload Plant, or willingness to obtain.

- Current White Card.

- Additional industry tickets and plant competencies highly desirable.

- Clean driving record.

- Safety-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.

- Professional communication and customer service skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to learn, adapt and follow company procedures.

- Medically fit for the requirements of the role and able to meet company drug and alcohol testing requirements.
