An opportunity has become available for an experienced Management Accountant to join a large, Brisbane-headquartered global energy business with operations across Australia, North America and Europe.

Operating across a diverse portfolio of renewable, remote and distributed energy assets, the business offers a complex and commercially interesting environment for an accountant looking to gain broader operational exposure.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of a broad management accounting remit while partnering closely with operational and non-finance stakeholders.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

- Month-end accounting, journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of management accounts and reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Cost control, monitoring and project costing
- Operational and capital expenditure reporting
- Fixed asset accounting
- Supporting operational stakeholders with financial and commercial insights
- Building strong relationships across finance and the broader business
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies
- Supporting audit requirements and broader finance projects

The position has a strong operational focus, including project costing, budgeting and forecasting, capital expenditure and business partnering with operations.

About You

You’ll be a well-rounded Management Accountant with strong technical fundamentals,



a proactive attitude and the confidence to engage with stakeholders across the business.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- CA/CPA qualification or progress towards qualification
- Strong month-end and management accounting experience
- Experience within energy, resources, infrastructure, heavy industry or another complex corporate environment
- Strong Excel and systems capability
- Experience working with a large ERP environment
- Oracle Fusion experience would be advantageous, but is not essential
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership and ask the right questions
