Go West Tours is seeking an experienced HSE Coordinator to join our operational HSE team supporting a significant transport operation for a Tier 1 mining client in Western Australia's Pilbara.
This is a practical, field-based HSE position with a strong focus on risk control, critical-control verification, assurance, incident management and workforce engagement.

Working closely with the HSE Manager and operational leadership, you will help ensure HSE requirements are understood and effectively implemented where they matter most — in the field.

The role operates on a FIFO basis from Perth, with roster arrangements currently flexible and to be agreed with the successful candidate.

The opportunity
This position suits an HSE professional who enjoys being actively involved in operations.
Rather than spending your working day behind a desk, you will regularly engage with supervisors and frontline employees, participate in risk assessments, conduct field verifications and inspections, support investigations, monitor corrective actions and help operational teams identify and resolve HSE issues.
You will work under the direction of the HSE Manager while also having the skilled confidence to intervene, stop work or escalate matters where controls are inadequate.

Key responsibilities
You will:

- Support implementation and day-to-day operation of the contract HSE management system.
- Facilitate operational and task-based risk assessments and support risk-register reviews.
- Conduct field verification of critical controls and escalate identified control failures.
- Conduct and support audits, inspections, field verifications and compliance reviews.




- Monitor compliance with company, client, site, statutory and contractual HSE requirements.
- Coordinate incident, hazard and near-miss reporting and undertake or support investigations.
- Maintain HSE action registers, follow up corrective actions and verify completion evidence.
- Provide practical HSE advice and coaching to supervisors and frontline employees.
- Support contractor HSE onboarding, risk assessment and field compliance.
- Support management-of-change activities.
- Coordinate emergency drills, readiness checks and follow-up actions.
- Maintain HSE records and performance information and identify emerging trends.
- Support injury-management and return-to-work activities.
- Facilitate workforce consultation, toolbox discussions, learning reviews and HSR engagement.
- Monitor environmental controls and field compliance.
- Support HSE inductions, competency requirements and safety-awareness activities.
- Provide higher-duties HSE leadership coverage when required.

The Coordinator PD specifically positions the role around field assurance, risk control and workforce engagement, including verification, incident/risk support and escalation of identified issues. It also includes operational coaching, performance reporting, consultation,



environmental compliance, training and higher-duties coverage.

About you
To succeed in this position, you will have:

- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or a higher WHS/Safety Management qualification.
- Investigation Foundation training or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in an HSE advisory or coordination role within mining, transport or a comparable operational environment.
- Working knowledge of the WA Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
- Experience in incident reporting, investigation and corrective-action management.
- Experience conducting or supporting field risk assessments, audits, inspections and critical-control verification.
- Experience working within a structured HSE management system.
- Strong field engagement, coaching and consultation skills.
- Good written communication and HSE reporting capability.
- Strong organisational skills and the discipline to follow actions through to completion.
- A current C-Class driver's licence.

Experience on a Tier 1 mining contract and ICAM Lead Investigator training will be highly regarded.

What we offer
Salary from $125,000 + superannuation, commensurate with experience and capability.

This is a FIFO position from Perth, with flexibility around the final roster arrangement.

For someone looking to develop beyond a traditional HSE Advisor/Coordinator position, this role also provides exposure to broader HSE system management and the opportunity to provide higher-duties leadership coverage for the HSE Manager.
