The Role & The Challenge

We are seeking an exceptional, highly proactive AI-Empowered Senior Python Engineer who wants to challenge themselves by working on truly innovative software and solving real, complex problems.

To be absolutely clear: we are looking for a pure Python Software Engineer focused on backend systems, architecture, and API design. This is not a Data Engineering role, and we are not looking for candidates focused on data pipelines or ETL workflows.

You will step into a high-trust, fully empowered environment to heavily build out, refactor, and maintain a core Software as a Service (SaaS) platform built entirely in Python. The platform itself directly integrates with various AI models to provide advanced services to our customers.

AI Access & Claude Code: We actively encourage our engineers to solve problems using AI. You will have full access to enterprise GenAI tooling. Using Claude Code to accelerate your daily workflow is an absolute must for this role. We want you to work smarter, build faster, and push the boundaries of what modern engineering looks like.

Key Responsibilities

- Solving Interesting Problems: Autonomously identify architectural bottlenecks,



thinking outside the box to engineer creative, unconventional solutions for our core AI-integrated SaaS platform.
- FastAPI Architecture & Engineering: Design, build, and scale production-grade RESTful JSON APIs using FastAPI, ensuring optimal response times and high throughput for our SaaS product.
- AI Model Integration: Build robust backend architectures that seamlessly integrate with multiple external LLMs and AI models to deliver core platform services.
- Agent-to-Agent (A2A) Development: Architect and implement complex A2A communication protocols, enabling autonomous systems to interact securely and efficiently.
- AI-Driven Engineering: Extensively utilise Claude Code (with 0 restrictions) to accelerate refactoring, code generation, automate testing, and solve complex architectural roadblocks.
- DevOps & AWS Infrastructure: Take extreme ownership of the deployment lifecycle. Develop, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines, deploying scalable Python workloads directly onto AWS infrastructure.
- Technical Mentorship: Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and performance optimisation efforts. Support and mentor mid-level engineers, contributing to a culture of uncompromised quality and ownership.

You actively seek out difficult engineering constraints and thrive when solving genuinely interesting technical puzzles.
- Python Software Engineering Mastery: You are a dedicated backend software engineer (not a Data Engineer) who understands the absolute depths of Python, asynchronous programming, and software design patterns.
- SaaS & FastAPI Excellence: Mandatory, extensive commercial experience building, refactoring, and scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms using FastAPI.
- A2A & AI Integration: Proven commercial knowledge of Agent-to-Agent (A2A) architectures and experience integrating enterprise backend systems with external AI models.
- AWS & CI/CD Mastery: Mandatory experience deploying scalable workloads on AWS and building robust, frictionless CI/CD pipelines.
- Claude Code Fluency: You must have practical, delivery-focused experience using Claude Code to directly improve your own engineering output and refactor complex codebases.
- Bonus Skills: Commercial experience designing and building out SDKs for external consumption is highly desirable, alongside any specific experience in building custom Claude skills.
