The Opportunity
Join Lockheed Martin Australia's Verification & Validation Centre of Excellence and play a key role in delivering verification expertise across a diverse portfolio of Defence and national security programs.
As a Verification & Validation Engineer (Staff), you will provide specialist V&V; leadership and support to complex projects across the business, helping teams plan, execute and mature verification activities throughout the systems engineering lifecycle. Working across different programs over time, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of technologies, platforms and Defence domains while contributing to engineering excellence across the organisation.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced V&V; qualified who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, mentoring others, and influencing best practice in the verification of mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
The Verification & Validation Engineer (Staff) primary responsibilities include:
- Lead the development of V&V; artefacts including Verification & Validation Plans, VCRMs, Acceptance Test Plans and Procedures
- Plan, coordinate and oversee system-level verification activities across complex Defence and technology programs
- Establish and maintain end-to-end traceability from requirements through to verification evidence within a digital engineering environment
- Provide specialist V&V; guidance to project teams, supporting integration, test, reviews, bids and governance activities
- Collaborate with customers, engineers, test teams and stakeholders to deliver robust verification outcomes
- Contribute to V&V; capability development through mentoring, process improvement, tool adoption and engineering best practice initiatives
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Significant experience in Verification & Validation, Systems Engineering, Integration, Test & Evaluation, or related disciplines on complex systems
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and the application of V&V; across the engineering lifecycle
- Experience working with MBSE methodologies and tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, ETM or similar digital engineering platforms
- Knowledge of Defence capability domains such as Command & Control, Command Support, ISR or C4ISR environments
- Experience working within Agile development environments and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across multiple projects
- NV1 security clearance and ability to handle Export Controlled information
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
