About Littles Lawyers
Littles Lawyers is a specialist personal injury law firm with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We act exclusively for injured people across a range of personal injury and compensation matters, including WorkCover, TAC, public liability, institutional abuse, general insurance and TPD claims.
We are a modern firm that values good judgment, technical ability and contribution over titles and traditional law firm hierarchy.
Technology is central to how we work. We embrace automation and new technology, and continually innovate to achieve better and more efficient ways to deliver outcomes for our clients.
Our team is culturally diverse and works collaboratively across offices and practice areas. We encourage open communication, the sharing of knowledge and ideas, and experienced lawyers taking an active role in developing those around them.
The role
We are seeking applications from candidates with proven experience in personal injury litigation. The role has two key areas of responsibility: providing guidance and mentorship to a small team of junior staff and, in time, running your own WorkCover and TAC practice.
You will be required to identify and deal with complex legal issues, develop case strategy, progress claims through the statutory and common law processes, conduct negotiations and conferences, brief and work with counsel and experts, and manage litigated matters through to resolution. A sound technical knowledge of the provisions of relevant accident compensation legislation is crucial.
You will report directly to our Head of Jurisdiction for Victoria.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for candidates with:
- at least 3 years’ post-admission experience in personal injury law (for plaintiffs or defendants);
- substantive experience in Victorian WorkCover and TAC matters;
- a current Australian practising certificate without a supervised legal practice condition;
- capacity to run personal injury matters with a high degree of autonomy;
- strong technical skills and sound forensic judgment;
- The ability to identify issues in a case and develop an effective case strategy for progression;
- the ability to communicate confidently with clients, counsel, experts, insurers and other practitioners; and
- an interest in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to their professional development.
More experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
Where the role can lead
Initially, the focus will be on your own WorkCover and TAC practice and supporting the development of the junior members of your team.
Over time, there will be scope for the successful applicant to develop their own practice within Littles, including building referral relationships and growing an area of practice.
Littles is also expanding its physical presence in Melbourne.
How we work
This is a full time position. We have a hybrid working arrangement. Our office is located in Melbourne's CBD. There may be an opportunity in the future to work from an additional Littles office in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
A bonus structure also applies to the role and can be discussed as part of the recruitment process.
If you are an experienced WorkCover and TAC solicitor who enjoys both running complex matters and helping junior practitioners develop, we’d like to hear from you by Friday, 25 September 2025.
