About the client
Our client is a well established independent school in Lower North Shore, with both day and boarding students, known for its solid academic reputation and values led community. About the role
As Director of People & Culture, you will be the school's senior executive leader for people, workplace culture and employment practice, and a trusted adviser to a Head of School who is highly engaged, hands on and operates an open door policy. You will lead a broad People & Culture function spanning workforce strategy, talent acquisition, employee and industrial relations, organisational development, wellbeing, HR systems and governance. This is a five year appointment, renewable by mutual agreement, and a genuine opportunity to shape strategy at the executive table while building the systems, capability and culture that support a large, complex workforce. The role is expected to commence in Term 4 by mutual agreement.
Duties
- Develop and lead the organisation wide People & Culture strategy
- Provide expert,
independent advice to the Head of School and leadership team on workforce risk, employee relations and organisational change.
- Lead complex employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, performance and conduct issues.
- Oversee talent acquisition, workforce planning and retention strategies
- Lead, coach and develop a capable People & Culture team, including direct oversight of HR systems, reporting and governance.
Requirements
- Degree level qualification
- Substantial senior leadership experience across a broad People & Culture portfolio in a complex, values based organisation.
- Contemporary expertise in Australian employment law, industrial relations, enterprise agreements and modern awards.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex workplace investigations and employee relations matters.
- Current Working With Children Check clearance, or the capacity to obtain and maintain one.
- A genuine appreciation for working within a Catholic school community and its values.
