At Mercy Connect, we support people to live fulfilled lives. We are seeking passionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our team in Orange and Cowra.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play an important role in supporting people with disability to achieve their goals, build independence, participate in their community, and live meaningful lives. You will provide person-centred support that promotes choice, control, dignity, and inclusion while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the people we support.

We are seeking applicants with demonstrated experience in the following areas:

Supported Independent Living: (SIL) Experience providing direct support to individuals within SIL environments, ensuring safety, independence, and high‑quality care.

Day Program Services: Experience delivering support within Day Program services, including engagement in meaningful activities, community participation, and skill‑building opportunities. This role will also include providing Out of Home Care support as required.

Responsibilities:

- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation,



and household tasks.
- Support clients in accessing community resources and participating in social activities.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in behaviour or health to the appropriate personnel.
- Encourage and promote independence and self-advocacy among clients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individual care plans.

What we are looking for:

- Experience working in disability support, community services, aged care, or a related field.
- A genuine commitment to supporting people with disability to live the life they choose.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive, professional relationships.
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and documentation skills.
- A willingness to be flexible across different services, shifts, and participant needs.
- An understanding of person-centred active support and participant choice and control.
